Fortitude

Read John 13:21-38

''Where I am going you cannot follow me now; but you shall follow afterward'' Jn 13:36

Dear Lord Jesus,

You have courageously faced suffering because of your great love for us. Grant us with the same spirit to be courageous heralds of the good news. When we are faced with challenges, grant us the fortitude to see you working in us thru our struggles.
Amen.

Coming home

Read: John 10:31-42

''know that the Father is in me and I in the father'

Dear Lord God, your are our strength and refuge, allow us to come back to you when things go wrong and against what we expected. May we find consolation in knowing you are there in all our battles, guiding us and providing us with the strength we need. Lord God, like Jesus who returned to where He began his mission, may we also come home to your loving arms as we turn away from our wicked ways. Amen.

Perfect Time

Read: John 7:1-2.10.25-30

"no one laid a hand upon him, because his hour had not yet come" Jn 7:30

Dear Lord Jesus,

purify my thoughts and deeds. May I only think and do what is according to your will. Lord, I know that your timing is perfect. Grant me the faith to patiently wait for the answers to my prayers, trusting that you know what's best for me at the right time.

Amen.

Habemus Papam

Dear Lord Jesus,

Thank you for blessing us with a new pope. We lift up to you Pope Francis as he leads and become a shepherd to your Church. Equip him with everything he will need to carry out this very important task of heading the Catholic faithful. May the Holy Spirit grant him the courage to continue to fight for life.

Amen.

Chair of Saint Peter

Read: Matthew 16:13-19

You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.

Dear Lord Jesus,

You truly are our Great Leader.  May your compassion inspire us to become good shepherds too to the flock entrusted to us. As we celebrate the feast of the Chair of Saint Peter, we lift up to you the intentions of the Pope, the health of our current pope Benedict XVI and the Cardinals who will elect his successor.  Most of all, we pray for the Catholic church that we may remain faithful and united in your love.

Amen.

Repent

If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

Read:  Matthew 6:1-6, 16-18

Dear Lord Jesus,

Your humility has shown the world that we should also humble ourselves and repent.  Cleanse our hearts that we may only perform our tasks in love, and purify our mind that we may only think and obey your will.

Amen.

Very Good

Read Genesis 1:20-2:4 and Mark 7:1-13

" God looked at everything He had made, and He found it very good." Gen 1:31

Dear Lord God,

All that You have created is good.  Give me the knowledge to use your blessings well so that I may be a blessing to others as well.

Amen.
